Sticky notes were on my mind for these two shows. Reflecting on the many notes and ideas I leave for myself in all of my spaces. Little big reminders. Look at the simplicity of these pieces but think on them a little deeper and what these notes many mean to you.

Let my new series trick your eyes at my next exhibit with artists Monty Guy and Reza Alhosseini. I’ll have five new paintings depicting hyperrealistic surreal versions of my own, well loved sketchbook and extraordinary college ruled paper with lines jumping off of their pages; all of them offering a view from my hyperphantasic mind’s eye.

“Sleight Of Hand investigates perceptions of reality via surrealism and trompe-l'oeil painting by three artists who use a combination of craft and imagination to create visual tricks on the viewer's mind. They juxtapose seemingly ordinary things with elements of the extraordinary, harkening thought about what is real, imagined, and induced.”

THE DE YOUNG OPEN

Join me for the second triennial de Young Open exhibition at the de Young Museum in San Francisco. This year 7,766 artists submitted work for a chance to show on the de Young Museum walls. Highly esteemed museum curators and artists selected the artworks from 883 Bay Area residents. My piece, Behind the Seen, is one of the selected pieces this year.

I have admired the exhibits at the de Young for years and I am deeply honored to show my work there for this coveted opportunity. Come and celebrate the creativity of Bay Area artists for the Opening Day Celebration on Saturday, September 30 from 11 - 4pm. The de Young Open exhibit will run through January 7, 2024.

Most of the work in the exhibit will be available for sale with 100% of the proceeds going to the artists. Purchases will be handled by the individual artists. Please contact me if you are interested in adding “Behind The Seen” to your collection.

"Creatress" at Stone Sparrow NYC Gallery

See my newest piece in the Mother Earth group exhibit at Stone Sparrow Gallery in New York.

"MOTHER EARTH is a diverse group exhibition consisting of 20 local and international artists working with the themes of motherhood, ecological conservation and the natural earth. The gallery will be donating 10% of the profits from sales from the show to Rainforest Trust, a non-profit organization with the mission to save millions of acres of rainforest across the world. THE DOG DAYS OF SUMMER:

“This exhibition title refers to the expression that is attached to the hottest days of summer, when the sun occupies the same space of the sky as the star Sirius (aka the dog star), but also to what it's more commonly used for as an expression: a time of stagnation. The pieces in the show are comprised of a few things we have shown during the pandemic that haven't been seen by many in person, as well as pieces that were created during this period of time that are being shown by us for the first time. This exhibition isn't specifically themed, but each artist chose their pieces to speak to the title of the show in their own ways. “

This group exhibition contains the work of Kevin Sparkowich, Krasso Mihaylov, Shelah Horvitz, Justin Brooks, Victor Grasso, Chris Guest, J. L. King, Niels Corfitzen, Christina Duarte, Rob Plater, MJ Lindo Lawyer, Joshua Lawyer, Gigi Chen, Richard T. Scott and Tim Roosen.
